A tiny house in Toronto or for the same price a 20 bedroom castle in Scotland. Which would you choose?

26 Empire State buildings could fit into NY empty office space!

Let that image sink in. New York city has such a surplus of vacant office space, that twenty-six (26) entire Empire State buildings could fit into the empty commercial office space. That’s 75 million square feet of office space. You think we are poised for a resurgent economy? Tighten your belts folks. I’m gonna check the statistics for other cities and see how they stack up. But if NY city is in such lousy shape, it does not bode well for the rest of America. Or does it? Unemployment rates are at record lows. I’m reading that the economy is just gang-busters driving forward. Hard to get one’s head around economics!
Canada’s new crown belongs on Homer Simpson’s head!

Canada changes its coat of arms. Apparently the original crown (left in pic) has religious symbols that our esteemed woke leaders in Ottawa find offensive. To whom? Anybody out there offended by the St. Andrews crown on the left? It’s the one Queen Elizabeth wore on her coronation. OH. And the current King Charles too. The new crown has a snow flake on top and maple leaves around. The crosses and fleur-de-lis on the original must have been so offensive to so many! And notice how our Liberal government has changed the direction of the arrows on the ermine accent so they now go to the LEFT! And the jewels on the original must have offended all working Canadians, can’t be celebrating anything that smacks of wealth. What’s with the new blue squiggly? Looks like a piece of spaghetti. Must be that one of Trudeau’s graphic arts buddies needed work. This country is not the Canada my parents immigrated to. Hell, I no longer recognize it! These subtle changes to our history keep eroding any sense of place or continuity. The new crown belongs on Homer Simpson’s head.
Go Leafs……to hell!

Toronto Maple Leafs lost another playoff game last night. They are now down 0 – 3 to Florida Panthers and must win all remaining 4 games to proceed further in the playoffs. I think we can all agree this is not going to happen. They may win one more game, perhaps with divine intervention even 2 more. But to think they can defeat a Florida team that knocked out the best NHL team (Boston) in NHL history? Not going to happen. What iced the conclusion for me, that the Leafs team needs to be blown up from management right across the board to the players, was the way Sheldon Keefe started the critical overtime period. He starts the 4th line! WTF!! Sure, the 4th line played well in this game, but you’ve got 4 players eating up $40 million payroll, your superstar offensive players, and they are sitting on the bench in the most critical opening minutes of the franchise’s season. And on the first whistle in OT, the Leafs had an offensive zone faceoff. Keefe keeps the 4th line out there! WTF! This Leafs team played scared of losing, not confident of winning. They were beaten to the puck in 50/50 puck battles, they were outhustled and outcoached. So, I’ll watch future Leaf games out of a sentimental attachment to Toronto, but my new NHL team to follow is the Ottawa Senators. Go Sens!

Sure, this is an extreme point of view. But are there any untruths in it?

Your brain is always on drugs. That is, there is always a neurochemical correlate to any of your conscious perceptions whatsoever.
